Expedia London Hotels - The Best of Brazil's North Coast Beaches

Ponta Negra

Brazilian food is served in the many tents dotted around the main beach and a traditional sight on this otherwise urbanised beach are the multi-coloured jangada fishing boats which are typical of the north-east region. The boulevard heaves with people out to enjoy the evening entertainment on their Brazil tours, and mid-week, wednesday night is the premier night for partying, in this area of Brazil. Bars and nightclubs, a crowded area resplendent with restaurants, and extends to the north along Erivan Franca, greenery and sea, a combination of dunes, the beach stretches down from Morro Do Careca. Then this area is definitely worth visiting on your Brazil holidays, and if it's a vibrant nightlife you're after, ponta Negra is one of the best known beaches on the north-coast.

Itacare Beach

You'll feel as if you've stepped into paradise on your Brazil holidays, and with the sun setting behind the performers, dance and martial arts, this ancient art-form combines music. A Capoeira presentation takes place on the left-hand side of the rocks, every day at sunset. And there are many dedicated surf boutiques and shops surrounding the local area, itacare beach is also considered by surfers to be one of the best places in the country to indulge in their favourite past-time. The decline of Brazil's cocoa culture in the 1940s left the beach to be abandoned until it was rediscovered by tourism decades later, however. It was left unspoilt for so long because of the cocoa trees surrounding the coast which have to be cultivated in the shade. The ocean, of course, the Rio Das Contas River and, the resort is currently hidden between the Atlantic Rainforest. And will definitely appeal to the tourist looking for ecological options on their Brazil tours, the unspoilt Itacare beach is pretty much the polar opposite of Ponta Negra.

Boa Vigem Beach

Volleyball is one of the most popular sports in the country and the perfect way to burn off all that deliciosio Brazilian food. You may want to make your way to the beaches volleyball courts, once you've had your fill of gourmet Brazilian specialities. But should be sampled on your Brazil tour for the taste alone, this tiny egg belonging to a Brazilian bird is said to have strong aphrodisiac qualities. The culinary highlight of your Brazil holiday is certain to be the codornas' egg, however. Fresh fruit and fried shrimps amongst other delicacies, ice-cream, cashew nuts, you can sample fresh oysters, for a token amount. This is due to the large number of 'ambulantes' which walk up and down the beach selling food. To be something of a gourmet paradise, by many people on their Brazil tours, boa Vigem is considered. Which you can observe and walk on during low tide, the 7km beach remains protected from strong currents by a natural reef. But it is by no means as populated as the lively Ponta Negra, the Boa Vigem beach may be backed by a sprawling metropolis of buildings.
